Site Manager

Reporting to the Local Managing Director.
In this role you will be in charge of:
 The day to day operational management  of a rubber plantation of 2.300 hectares, and workshop for fleet maintenance
 Reporting to the Managing Director
 Follow and implement the group’s environmental, social and corporate policies
 The overall responsibility for the plantations operations including operational, financial and staff management
 Building and leading a team of agronomists, plantation staff and workers, and workshop technicians
 Organizing the management of existing rubber plantations (upkeep and tapping)
 Managing the new planting programs in line with Group’s environmental & social policy
 Training and knowledge transfer to local staff
 Increasing production and output
 Controlling the budget of the plantation
 Developing, deploying and implementing plans to ensure the best utilization of assets in the site as well as supervise and give guidance on the maintenance of such assets
 Creating and implementing plans to continuously improve site infrastructure needs such as energy, water, treatment, steam and all infrastructure services, contracts and contractors.
 Coaching and developing the human resources across the site on technical and technology issues
 Managing the capex projects and develop and follow budgets after approval of the board
 Working collaboratively with Operations managers to improve site, line efficiencies and reduce waste
 Represent the company at local level
 Develop and implement cost cutting policies to remain competitive in the business
 Develop and implement the necessary controls to survey possible thefts and frauds in the system
 Use actively the group ERP system in order to avoid parallel reporting
Function criteria:
• Agronomist or equal by experience
• Experience from rubber/palm plantation industry is helpful
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience at senior management level;
• Fluent in French, speaking English is a plus
• Previous exposure to West or Central Africa is a must
• Motivated, result-oriented and dynamic, able to prioritize and being proactive
• Problem solver, flexible and multitasker
• Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good Management skills
• Good IT skills (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint)
• Will be based in Gabon.
